The Doggie Park Adventure

So, I felt I should share the story of the doggie park. I was dogsitting Lucy (pictured of course) and decided that we would venture to a lovely dog park so that she could run around like a maniac. Well, shortly after we arrived, two pit bulls and Retriever came in to join the fun. Oh and fun it was...Lucy (an Italian Greyhound and wicked fast!) ran them around the entire area...well at some points I would hear her wincing and wanting them to stop...well the last time she circled the park, she saw and ran directly toward me. She jumped up in my arms and buried her face in my neck - oh so cute you're saying right? Well, she weighs 5 pounds...the three dogs that were chasing her however weighed a lot more and as she jumped in my arms they continued running and tackled me!!!!!! I think I was actually lifted off the ground much like a football player but with four dogs on top of me. Those of you who actually know me...each dog weighed about the same as I do! :) I wasn't hurt and it created much amusement with all other dog owners...I think I received a doggie bath that day...yeah good times. So, here are some pics of Lucy from the next day - no tackling that day!

A lovely wedding...

I attended a wedding this past weekend with my friend Eric - as he needed a "plus one". It was held at the Paradise Point Resort in San Diego which was beautiful! I actually don't have one picture of the bride and groom as I was really off my photo taking game that evening. I did, however, make some lovely new friends...though not all of them are pictured. Sorry, my photo taking skills were put to use at the bar...yeah Chardonnay and I are no longer friends :)

Whatcha lookin' at?

Hmmmm...

LA Dodgers!!!!!

Is it just me or does Hal look really tan - yeah maybe I'm just white.

That's right...I enjoyed a lovely Baseball Game at Dodgers Stadium a couple of weeks ago now. I had such good intentions of uploading these photos right away, alas the days slipped away. Sorry!
My friend Greg has left LA for the Summer and is performing at the Tahoe Shakespeare Festival so this was our last evening out with him. :( LA beat the Mets 8-5...'twas quite a good game actually - for Baseball at least. Hey, nothing will ever beat sitting at Fenway in Boston on top of the Green Monster (even though the Red Sox lost that game)...Now I'm a Red Sox/Dodgers Fan. Yup, still hate the Yankees! :)

Yeah we all know I'm more of a Soccer/Tennis fan...but I try!

Ford Mustang Convertible

I felt that our car deserved a separate post! :) I highly recommend anyone visiting LA to get a convertible...it makes traffic almost bearable! :)

Bel Air and Westwood

Well after Recovering from our lovely drive to the Sky Bar and Carls Jr the night before, we thought it would be best to go back to the Beach and Boogie Board. Unfortunatly, as mentioned before, the Marine Layer was quite thick and brought in quite a bit of cool air...so we opted for Westwood instead.
We ate lunch and then continued on to the Bel-Air Crest where my student lives. Steve hung around the estate while I taught her...We then continued on to the most important stop for Steve -Amoeba Music! I get completely overwhelmed in there - just so huge!

After a short while we decided that we were ready for our final supper at In-n-Out Burger. By far the best fast food burger in the city! At least you know that you're actually eating meat and potatoes. I miss my brother already...think I'm going through Withdrawal!

Arctic Monkeys and We Are Scientists

This is the same outfit I wore the night before when we were rejected at the party. It will be retired!

Most of the reason Steve came out here was to see the Arctic Monkeys at the Wiltern Theater! The Theater is only five blocks from my house so we enjoyed a leisurely stroll and left the Convertible in the parking space. Now, I had a fabulous plan: We were going to go to the show and then go home, change clothes and continue on at the Sky Bar...the Bar where people like Kate Beckinsale hang out...Great plan no? Well, unfortunatly we didn't make it due to Ice Cube playing at the House of Blues and the cops blocking off the street. There was some sort of Gang Shooting or Fight which kept everyone from getting anywhere for quite a while. Oh well - next time! I think it's the outfit! So, Carls Jr. was our back up...nothing like some grease before bed!

Paramount Studios

My great friend Damon invited us to the set of the upcoming show "America's Got Talent" which was created by Simon Cowell. This visit was amazingly fun! It was very quiet at Paramount since it was a Saturday but we did get to see Taylor Hicks (the American Idol) - woohooo! No seriously, I was excited! We watched some of the contestants rehearse on the stage and really just enjoyed the Air-Conditioning. We then visited one of our favourite restaurants "the Vienna Cafe" and enjoyed a gigantic serving of Wiener Schnitzel...yup I'm homesick!
After a bit of rest it was on to the reason for Steve's Visit: The Arctic Monkeys at the Wiltern Theater!

MAGIC MOUNTAIN

A very full day ended on an Empty Stomach and Stella Artois...apparently I get a bit feisty

On a beautiful sunny day, Steve and I set off to Six Flags aka Magic Mountain. They have a new ride there called "Tatsu" - makes buying a Flash Pass very worth it! The wait was almost two hours when we arrived! We got a lot of sun that day but still made it out to the Cat & Fiddle that evening. That was after attempting to get into an MTV Promo Party in Beverly Hills. We were my friend Hal's "plus two" but unfortunatly he did not feel up to going...so we attempted to just be the "plus two" which they didn't go for. It was a lovely drive though...even the Mustang Convertible couldn't help us.
Maybe Steve and I got too much sun that day, because while we were at the Cat & Fiddle we were convinced that the lead singer of We Are Scientists was across from us. It wasn't, but he certainly looked a lot like him. We did have a great story made up for him though...
