Siggy VS Lucy!!!

Just Kidding! There is no competition between the two...but I am adding Lucy to my favourites and hey maybe if Siggy ever lives with me, they can be friends! Siggy will always be my baby, we all know this. Okay, enough posting on animals...Think I need to pick up Siggy soon so that I can have a pet here in LA!

Lucy

I would like to introduce you all to Lucy! She is my friend Hal's new puppy. A lovely Italian Greyhound (aka alien) that has the best personality - now, no one can take the place of my little Siggy...but I dogsat for Hal this past week and have to say that I completely fell in love with the little alien. :)

Santa Cruz, CA

Hello! Last weekend I enjoyed an improptu trip to Santa Cruz, CA! :) I actually had an Audition at Shakespeare Santa Cruz - which is one of the best known Summer Shakespeare Festivals in the Country where I auditioned to be Eliza in Pygmalion (yeah it's Shaw - they also do other plays as well as their annual Shakespeare Productions. Anyway...The Audition went great and afterward I was moved to explore the area. I would very very very highly recommend visiting this area! It is soo beautiful! A few friends and I (that I met at the audition) explored all the way up to Half Moon Bay and Moss Beach...enjoying a beer alongside a bunch of strangers in a small restaurant that had chairs around firepits for all to share. It was amazing...after munching on some appetizers we ventured over to "Barbara's" - a small local place that served the most amazing wild Salmon...hmmm this is starting to sound like a tourist essay isn't it? The most amazing part of it was a tiny hike to the edge of a small cliff, which overlooked the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other...It makes me wonder why I live in Concrete Ville. After our adventure, I drove 6 hours back to Los Angeles...yeah I was tired.

What else?

Other than this lovely past weekend, life has been pretty "normal" for me. :) Seriously, I spent a Saturday night just doing laundry and relaxing. Quite exciting I think.

Our (Greg, Hal and I) friend Andrew visited from New York! It was lovely having him here...and hey when we wandered around the Hollywood Bowl, we met the Technical Director who has been there for 40 years...gave us some T-Shirts and a short backstage tour...

More people need to visit me so that I can post more things! :) Ha, it's all up to you! By the way, 31 SHOPPING DAYS 'till my BIRTHDAY! :)
Hope you are all well!

Zumanity...

Hello! So, quite a bit has happened since the last post! In fact, so much that I can't even write it all down. So, perhaps we'll just start from this past weekend. I went to Vegas - that's right! I wait ages to go and suddenly go twice within a month. :) I would very highly recommend to anyone going to see Zumanity - it's the sexy Cirque du Soleil - and when they say Sexy they really mean it! It's amazing...explores all different aspects of love with amazing acrobatics and dance and crazy bendy people! You can view the trailer here: http://www.zumanity.com/en/trailer2.asp

If any of you decide to go to Vegas - call me! :)

I really was in Minnesota...

Sooo, going back in time a bit. I went to Minnesota for a long weekend to visit Rayna. I forgot to mention that I, along with Jenn's Sister was asked to be Rayna's Godmother! I am so excited and flattered to have that responsibility...and I'll make sure to buy her lots of gifts! :)

Vegas Baby Vegas!

That's right! Five days after arriving back in LA and readjusting to the 77 degree weather (hey it was 80 in Oahu - actually it was warmer in LA!) I went on a whirlwind trip to Las Vegas. Amazing experience and hey I actually really liked Las Vegas. I was pretty skeptical but it's like a candy store for Adults! Wandered around, gambled a bit, saw Avenue Q (Great show...highly recommended), ate a lot of food...it was a great 24 Hours. :) Thank you so much to my friend Eric for taking me along on this great excursion! :)

Oahu...

WARNING: White tourist girl! Seriously, I think I blinded people, though I managed to get some colour by the end of the weekend. :) I was really off my picture taking game as I missed quite a few opportunities...just another reason to go back. Missing are the Friday night excursion (which may be a good thing that there's no proof) and the Superbowl party. :( Sorry!

I have to say that I had incredibly high expectations for this island and they were surpassed! It's beautiful! I would like to again sometime soon to visit some of the other islands, but Oahu is lovely. We travelled to the north shore, stopping at Giovanni's Shrimp-all must stop there as they have delicious Shrimp Scampi. I go to see Sea Turtles in the waves - the north shore is famous for it's huge waves in the wintertime (though they were apparently taking a rest when I was there), I surfed and went hiking through a rainforest to a waterfall. Enjoyed a "local" night out by going downtown to view Art Galleries and sing Karaoake (very badly) and end the night drinking budweisers while some people tried to beat each other up. Perhaps they were just trying to wrestle the microphone out of our hands. Sorry, no pictures from that night...so no proof, but perhaps that's a good thing!
Definitely understandable why so many people get married there or take their honeymoon there. :) Soooo, a huge THANK YOU to my friend Charles for making it an amazing trip and for introducing me to lovely people!!! LA was a huge adjustment this past week...It's pretty easy to get used to the slooowww hawaiian lifestyle.

Teaser...

View from Apartment

So, I spent one day back in LA after Minnesota, before jetting off to visit my friend Charles in Hawaii! That's right, HAWAII!!! More Pictures coming soon...though they don't really do it justice. :)

Little Rayna...

She's beautiful and Perfect...just some pics - I just realized that none of them have me in them. Must talk to my brother about that!

Old Baldy!!!

Hello! I HAVE THE INTERNET AT HOME!! WOOHOOO...this will mean that (hopefully) I will be much more consistent about updating my blog with tidbits of LA and the surrounding area. :)
Soo, my niece Rayna was born, which was definitely the best thing about January (other than some other people's birthdays!) and I did get to visit her, but more on that later. First, some pictures from my Hike up to Old Baldy. About an hour outside of LA, I spent a lovely afternoon hiking around (with a cold no less!) and then kicked ass playing pool in the local lodge. :) It felt like a ski lodge which was lovely...but unfortunatly I don't have any pictures of it. It was really strange to ride a ski lift up without any snow (or ski's) and by the way...it was cold at the top of the mountain! :)
